WE WANT YOU!  YOUR INPUT.  YOUR IDEAS.  YOUR PARTICIPATION!

As you can tell by our latest poster, we are going to make “The Zombie Movie”.  That’s not really the title, that’s just to let you know the general theme.  We want you to help us make and create this movie – even the title!  The more you are involved, the more you get your friends involved, the more fun it will be for everyone.

We're scheduled to start filming in August of 2011.  Most of the movie will be shot in Northern Arizona at a place called the Grand Canyon Caverns and Inn, with some additional filming in Los Angeles. But we've got to finish the script, figure out our zombie's "look," cast the film, and more.  We've got A LOT to do.

SO LET'S GET STARTED!

Here's what we've got so far:

"The Zombie Movie"

Estimated Production Date:  August 15, 2011

Plot Summary

When our heroines Lorena, Roxy and Ginger set off for somewhere(Las Vegas, Washington DC, Omaha, Nebraska) for a something(Conference, symposium, Camp), they soon find themselves lost on a remote stretch of a forgotten highway.  At a little old motel in the middle of nowhere, the girls find shelter, but after a government experiment goes horribly awry they wake up to also find zombies!  Lorena, the girls and an intrepid young something(cowboy, scientist, motel clerk) battle the creatures.  But the undead get the upper hand, and the fate of humanity lies in the balance.  As thrilled as she is to finally meet some men interested in her for her brains, Lorena has to come up with a plan to stop them -- if she’s going to save her friends, save the man she loves…and save the world.
Nothing a girl with Lorena’s background and skills can’t handle.

Decision Point #1

Who is going to SAVE US?

You decided: CHEERLEADERS

cheerleader

It was a hard fought contest, but the cheerleaders won out.  With their spirit and rah, rah attitude, why wouldn’t they.  The cheerleaders came in first with almost a three-way tie between PhD candidates, sorority sisters and bikini team, so we’re thinking that we should try and come up with a story line that includes all those characters.

For instance,  “The State University of California in Tustin (SUCIT) cheerleading squad, who are all working towards their PhD’s in various psychology and biology disciplines and who are all members of the Tri-Lam Sorority House are heading for South Padre Island for Spring Break and a bikini contest.”

With that in mind, we want your ideas, opinions and wild theories of how to get these girls together at the beginning of the movie...and why are they traveling to Arizona.  No idea is too crazy, so have some fun with it. We'll post the top five ideas and put it to a vote!

Timeline:  2/28 – 3/14

Decision Point #2

Our Zombies – What is their muse?

There are all kinds of Zombies in this world and we need to decide what kind of Zombies are trying to take over the world?  Are they flesh-eating zombies, blob zombies or just scary, drooling zombies?  Yikes!!!  Do they scream, mumble scary catchy sayings such as “hope and change” or do they continuously call out the name of an old girlfriend/boyfriend.  You have to decide!   We’ll use the same format as before: One week to make suggestions, the top 5 are listed and the community votes over the 2nd week.

Timeline: 3/14 – 3/28

Decision Point #3

Title of the Movie

Now that we have our saviors and our zombies identified, what are we going to call the movie?  This is a huge decision and the community will make it!  Who gets top billing….the girls or the zombies?  Is the end of the world mentioned or just the promise of scary fun?  It has to be catchy and creative!  You know who is going to save us.  You know who is trying to kill us.  You know where it is all happening.  Put it together and give us a title to make your mother proud.  One week for suggestions and one week for voting on the top choices!  This is IMPORTANT!!!!

Submit and/or vote on what you think is the best title for the movie.

Timeline: 3/28 – 4/11

Decision Point #4

The Zombie Look

We know their motivation, but how do our Zombies look?  The classic, corpselike creatures of the undead or just slightly pale backwoods sub-humans.  You know the location of our film, you know our Zombies muse so now you need to tell us how you think they will look.  Remember this is a micro budget production so effective and cheap will win out every day over effective and expensive.  Should also be easy to do and recreate as our Zombies will need to get in and out of make-up every day.

Timeline:  4/11 - 4/25

Decision Point #5

How Do Our Zombies Die?

Sure you can kill a Zombie in any number of ways: blow their heads off, squish then with a steamroller, chop off their heads, burn them, explode them – we’ve seen them all.  What we are looking for is some new and interesting ideas how you would have Zombies die.  Let your minds expand, remember it’s a movie, not reality.  We have our own ideas about how we’d like to see our Zombies go out – remember our Heroines are women – but surely you can come up with some ideas that we won’t think off.  Submit videos of how you would arrange for the Zombies to die.  Don’t do anything that would hurt yourself or others, but get creative.  Even if it as simple as showing us the technique you would use to show us and explain how you would blow up zombie heads on a budget – we are sure people will love to see it and the technique may end up in the movie.

Timeline: 4/25 – 5/9

Decision Point #6

How do our Zombies act?

We’ve already decided our Zombies’ motivation, now how do you see that motivating translating into how they “Zombie”.  Send us your video showing how you believe our Zombies will act as they attempt to kill us all.  Hey, that’s what Zombies do, but show us how you see our Zombies doing it.  Videotape you and your friends doing their Zombies thing.  Make the location generic and maybe it will end up in the film.

Timeline:  5/9 – 5/31

From Here On:

OK, we know who’s going to save the world, we know what drives our Zombies, we’ve got a title, we’ve got Zombie ideas on how they look, act and die, so now all we need is to finalize some of the scenes in the movie and get you guys to submit your audition videos to try and win a part in the movie.

Vote on storyboards

We’ll post scenes from the movie that can have different outcomes and you will be able to vote on how you want the scene to play out.

Timeline: 6/1 – 7/31

Auditions

Submit your audition tapes to be in the movie.  We’ll take audition tapes for a month or so, then call in people for second readings and post it all on the internet for you to see.  Then we’ll have you vote on who you’d like to see in the movie.  You can even submit a video of yourself being a Zombie if that’s the role you want.

Timeline: 6/1 – 7/31

Write a scene for the zombie movie

For all you future screen play writers, submit scenes to us that you think would work for the Zombie Movie.  We’ll post them all and maybe we’ll even use one in the movie.  These will occur at random times as the screenplay progresses, but we’ll let you know each time there is a new one to help out with.  There’s no compensation but you’ll get a real movie credit and be the envy of your friends!

Timeline: 4/1 – 7/31

Vote on the fate of certain character

Vote on what happens to certain characters.  Will depend on how scenes play out and the screen play develops, but there will be options where members will be able to help us decide who dies, who lives and who becomes the undead.  These will occur at random times as the screenplay progresses, but we’ll let you know each time there is a new one to help out with.

Timeline: 4/1 – 7/31

Poster for the Movie

We’ve got our girls, we’ve got our Zombies, we’ve even got a Title so now we need a poster the script has been fully developed and the film is in pre-production so now we need a poster to announce to the world that our movie is coming soon.  Submit your poster ideas and we’ll put the best one’s up for a vote by the community.

Timeline:  8/1 – 9/30

Music for the Movie

Usually the music for a movie isn’t done until the film is more or less complete and edited, but we don’t want to wait that long because we want your involvement in this aspect of the film as well.  If you are a musician and you’ve got some original music/songs that you think would be perfect for a movie like this send it on over.  If we really like it we will try and get it into the film and maybe even craft a scene for it.  You’ll get screen credit and maybe just that added bit of recognition your career needs.  If you’re not a musician, tell your musician friends.  They’ll thank you for it.

Timeline:  4/1 – 10/31

The more everyone participates the more fun this will be and who knows where everything will end up.  Will we end up with a racehorse or a camel (a horse by committee).  The important part will be that you can always tell everyone that, “I Made A Movie”.

NOW LET’S HAVE SOME FUN AND MAKE A MOVIE!!!!!

Note: THIS IS OUR FIRST SHOT AT DOING THIS IN THE CLOUD SO ALL TIMELINES ARE APPROXIMATE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE, BUT WE WANT YOU TO KNOW EVERYTHING THAT IS COMING SO YOU CAN THINK AHEAD.

Joshua good proposition. Dead South conveys the idea without being redundantly over-exaggerated, or obvious. It also doesn't limit the audience from the get-go to a specific group that say, "Bring it on, Zombies!" would attract. It also sounds very Left4Dead zombie-esque.

Old school... mumbling "Brains" and just making zombie noises. They will be drooling, scary, and just flesh-eating!

Start off with a practice of the squad at the University and the stars of the squad maybe (4 or 5) meet up later in the movie heading to a relaxing time for spring break. Little do they know whats in store.

Brett, we aren't dead, but at the moment we are sort of in a coma. Economy has really slowed things down and we are in the process of trying to sell Rancho D'Amour and Walk-In. As soon as the sales on those two movies start to move forward we will be right back with the filming of Cheerleaders vs. Zombies.

Thanks for the update Sir McEnulty. I shall be patiently waiting for further news and updates. I have a 401k with about five dollars and forty-three cents if it helps, I can contribute at least half of it. I have to make sure I have a little sumpin sumpin to retire with or else I'd give it all. On a more serious note, ok and good luck. *secret handshake* Peace be with you.

Frank McEnultyFrank McEnulty on Wednesday, 14 December 2011 15:18

Well your 401K is doing better than most!!!!!!! Well get there. As I traded emails with a friend of mine in the Czech Republic today I said that while he is waiting for Spring weather to get here, we are just waiting for the Spring economy to get here after the long, dark winter.

Brett BuzekBrett Buzek on Tuesday, 31 January 2012 22:25

I hear ya big guy. Quick question maybe? Are you still casting major riles for this film? I noticed you wrote, "right back to the filming of" as if t'wer already being filmed.

Brett BuzekBrett Buzek on Tuesday, 31 January 2012 22:26

Oh my, I meant to put roles, not riles, silly me. I'm pretty sure riles ain't even no word. My grammar is an embarrassment.

We've been gearing up for AFM (American Film Market) that happens in a couple weeks here in Santa Monica and have been a little distracted. In addition, we are also in the process of signing up a sales and marketing agent for our films. Sales agents actually are a big help for two reasons. The first is obvious, they help sell the films and get your money back from the making of the film. The second reason is a little less obvious, but maybe even more important in that they help you tailor your film to what the market wants so that it can be more commercially successful. For instance, did you know that in a lot of Europe, where nudity is no big deal, a whole bunch of films can't get sold there because the violence is way too graphic. So, tone down the graphic violence a little bit and the film can be so much more successful. Yes, I know some people will think that is pandering to the "suits", but hey, if we don't make money off these films, then we won't be making films.

Thanks for the update on pre production. Can't wait to see this come together.

Frank McEnultyFrank McEnulty on Friday, 28 October 2011 10:33

We can't wait for it to come together either. Found some great sound guys who do really tremendous scary music the other day which will be perfect for the movie.

Brett BuzekBrett Buzek on Sunday, 11 December 2011 00:05

Hi Frank, hope the holidays are treating you and yours well. Mine have been great so far, enjoying the time with family, really looking forward to Christmas. Any updates on the film? Particularly casting? It doesn't look like anything has been posted or discussed in a while.

Heyooo!!! Mister Bill and Mister Cavernsboyyyyee, quick question:;:;:what is going on with the casting for this finger licking good action horror comedy with boobies smashly hit pro-duck-shun? I haven't seen any posts about what's going on lately. I, for three, would like to start thrasing, or start watching somebody thrash upon zombies like delicious candy filled pinatas. Great, now I'm hungry, gotta go, my mom is calling me for dinner, another night of beenie weenies and spamerol (spam in a casserole) and for dessert a nice big helping of I'm going to shoot myself in the face. Sweet mother of Jehovah I need to get outta here......that's a farce just FYI....there's no such thing as spamerol..... ...

The next five people to pledge $100 or more get to appear in the movie as a zombie that gets it head exploded by a topless cheerleader! Must be able to come out to Northern Arizona for the shooting in JANUARY 2012. Help us help Lorena and the girls!

Oh if I had a hundred dollars....oh sweet jahova.....great gobs of goose sheet, if I had money I'd throw down a grand and have ten topless cheerleaders blow my head, I mean blow it off. Either that or one cheerleader with ten dirty pillows. Ooooooo forget about sewing three people together and calling it a centipede, I want to sew 8 taters on a cheerleader and call it a milk dispenser. We could have a chocolate, and strawberry, and one that's protein infused and a flavor of the week and etc etc......brilliant!!!! Way off topic, love to donate guys but I'm broke like a hymen on prom night. Sorry guys.
