WE WANT YOU!  YOUR INPUT.  YOUR IDEAS.  YOUR PARTICIPATION!

As you can tell by our latest poster, we are going to make “The Zombie Movie”.  That’s not really the title, that’s just to let you know the general theme.  We want you to help us make and create this movie – even the title!  The more you are involved, the more you get your friends involved, the more fun it will be for everyone.

We're scheduled to start filming in August of 2011.  Most of the movie will be shot in Northern Arizona at a place called the Grand Canyon Caverns and Inn, with some additional filming in Los Angeles. But we've got to finish the script, figure out our zombie's "look," cast the film, and more.  We've got A LOT to do.

SO LET'S GET STARTED!

Here's what we've got so far:

"The Zombie Movie"

Estimated Production Date:  August 15, 2011

Plot Summary

When our heroines Lorena, Roxy and Ginger set off for somewhere(Las Vegas, Washington DC, Omaha, Nebraska) for a something(Conference, symposium, Camp), they soon find themselves lost on a remote stretch of a forgotten highway.  At a little old motel in the middle of nowhere, the girls find shelter, but after a government experiment goes horribly awry they wake up to also find zombies!  Lorena, the girls and an intrepid young something(cowboy, scientist, motel clerk) battle the creatures.  But the undead get the upper hand, and the fate of humanity lies in the balance.  As thrilled as she is to finally meet some men interested in her for her brains, Lorena has to come up with a plan to stop them -- if she’s going to save her friends, save the man she loves…and save the world.
Nothing a girl with Lorena’s background and skills can’t handle.

Decision Point #1

Who is going to SAVE US?

You decided: CHEERLEADERS

cheerleader

It was a hard fought contest, but the cheerleaders won out.  With their spirit and rah, rah attitude, why wouldn’t they.  The cheerleaders came in first with almost a three-way tie between PhD candidates, sorority sisters and bikini team, so we’re thinking that we should try and come up with a story line that includes all those characters.

For instance,  “The State University of California in Tustin (SUCIT) cheerleading squad, who are all working towards their PhD’s in various psychology and biology disciplines and who are all members of the Tri-Lam Sorority House are heading for South Padre Island for Spring Break and a bikini contest.”

With that in mind, we want your ideas, opinions and wild theories of how to get these girls together at the beginning of the movie...and why are they traveling to Arizona.  No idea is too crazy, so have some fun with it. We'll post the top five ideas and put it to a vote!

Timeline:  2/28 – 3/14

Decision Point #2

Our Zombies – What is their muse?

There are all kinds of Zombies in this world and we need to decide what kind of Zombies are trying to take over the world?  Are they flesh-eating zombies, blob zombies or just scary, drooling zombies?  Yikes!!!  Do they scream, mumble scary catchy sayings such as “hope and change” or do they continuously call out the name of an old girlfriend/boyfriend.  You have to decide!   We’ll use the same format as before: One week to make suggestions, the top 5 are listed and the community votes over the 2nd week.

Timeline: 3/14 – 3/28

Decision Point #3

Title of the Movie

Now that we have our saviors and our zombies identified, what are we going to call the movie?  This is a huge decision and the community will make it!  Who gets top billing….the girls or the zombies?  Is the end of the world mentioned or just the promise of scary fun?  It has to be catchy and creative!  You know who is going to save us.  You know who is trying to kill us.  You know where it is all happening.  Put it together and give us a title to make your mother proud.  One week for suggestions and one week for voting on the top choices!  This is IMPORTANT!!!!

Submit and/or vote on what you think is the best title for the movie.

Timeline: 3/28 – 4/11

Decision Point #4

The Zombie Look

We know their motivation, but how do our Zombies look?  The classic, corpselike creatures of the undead or just slightly pale backwoods sub-humans.  You know the location of our film, you know our Zombies muse so now you need to tell us how you think they will look.  Remember this is a micro budget production so effective and cheap will win out every day over effective and expensive.  Should also be easy to do and recreate as our Zombies will need to get in and out of make-up every day.

Timeline:  4/11 - 4/25

Decision Point #5

How Do Our Zombies Die?

Sure you can kill a Zombie in any number of ways: blow their heads off, squish then with a steamroller, chop off their heads, burn them, explode them – we’ve seen them all.  What we are looking for is some new and interesting ideas how you would have Zombies die.  Let your minds expand, remember it’s a movie, not reality.  We have our own ideas about how we’d like to see our Zombies go out – remember our Heroines are women – but surely you can come up with some ideas that we won’t think off.  Submit videos of how you would arrange for the Zombies to die.  Don’t do anything that would hurt yourself or others, but get creative.  Even if it as simple as showing us the technique you would use to show us and explain how you would blow up zombie heads on a budget – we are sure people will love to see it and the technique may end up in the movie.

Timeline: 4/25 – 5/9

Decision Point #6

How do our Zombies act?

We’ve already decided our Zombies’ motivation, now how do you see that motivating translating into how they “Zombie”.  Send us your video showing how you believe our Zombies will act as they attempt to kill us all.  Hey, that’s what Zombies do, but show us how you see our Zombies doing it.  Videotape you and your friends doing their Zombies thing.  Make the location generic and maybe it will end up in the film.

Timeline:  5/9 – 5/31

From Here On:

OK, we know who’s going to save the world, we know what drives our Zombies, we’ve got a title, we’ve got Zombie ideas on how they look, act and die, so now all we need is to finalize some of the scenes in the movie and get you guys to submit your audition videos to try and win a part in the movie.

Vote on storyboards

We’ll post scenes from the movie that can have different outcomes and you will be able to vote on how you want the scene to play out.

Timeline: 6/1 – 7/31

Auditions

Submit your audition tapes to be in the movie.  We’ll take audition tapes for a month or so, then call in people for second readings and post it all on the internet for you to see.  Then we’ll have you vote on who you’d like to see in the movie.  You can even submit a video of yourself being a Zombie if that’s the role you want.

Timeline: 6/1 – 7/31

Write a scene for the zombie movie

For all you future screen play writers, submit scenes to us that you think would work for the Zombie Movie.  We’ll post them all and maybe we’ll even use one in the movie.  These will occur at random times as the screenplay progresses, but we’ll let you know each time there is a new one to help out with.  There’s no compensation but you’ll get a real movie credit and be the envy of your friends!

Timeline: 4/1 – 7/31

Vote on the fate of certain character

Vote on what happens to certain characters.  Will depend on how scenes play out and the screen play develops, but there will be options where members will be able to help us decide who dies, who lives and who becomes the undead.  These will occur at random times as the screenplay progresses, but we’ll let you know each time there is a new one to help out with.

Timeline: 4/1 – 7/31

Poster for the Movie

We’ve got our girls, we’ve got our Zombies, we’ve even got a Title so now we need a poster the script has been fully developed and the film is in pre-production so now we need a poster to announce to the world that our movie is coming soon.  Submit your poster ideas and we’ll put the best one’s up for a vote by the community.

Timeline:  8/1 – 9/30

Music for the Movie

Usually the music for a movie isn’t done until the film is more or less complete and edited, but we don’t want to wait that long because we want your involvement in this aspect of the film as well.  If you are a musician and you’ve got some original music/songs that you think would be perfect for a movie like this send it on over.  If we really like it we will try and get it into the film and maybe even craft a scene for it.  You’ll get screen credit and maybe just that added bit of recognition your career needs.  If you’re not a musician, tell your musician friends.  They’ll thank you for it.

Timeline:  4/1 – 10/31

The more everyone participates the more fun this will be and who knows where everything will end up.  Will we end up with a racehorse or a camel (a horse by committee).  The important part will be that you can always tell everyone that, “I Made A Movie”.

NOW LET’S HAVE SOME FUN AND MAKE A MOVIE!!!!!

Note: THIS IS OUR FIRST SHOT AT DOING THIS IN THE CLOUD SO ALL TIMELINES ARE APPROXIMATE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE, BUT WE WANT YOU TO KNOW EVERYTHING THAT IS COMING SO YOU CAN THINK AHEAD.
