Video Lounge Instructions

The Video Chat Lounge is easy to use and familiar to most of you. However, here are a few tips and tricks that may make your experience a little easier:

To enter Video Chat, simply select the BLUE Video Chat icon in the community or select Video Chat from the main menu under Community.

The first screen you will see is the Connection Screen. If you are already logged into the community, it will recognize your username and add it for you automatically. All you need to do is select your gender, and press the "Connect me to the Video Chat Server" bar.

The next screen is a Lounge Selector. You can select the public lounge or any of the other Specialty Lounges in the list. Once you have selected a lounge, simply select  the "Join" button in the lower left corner.

Once you are in the Lounge, you will see a member list to the left, a chat area in the center, and a text chat toolbar at the bottom.

There is a button on the upper right in rooms in which you are able to start your own webcam and microphone. There are two requirements for streaming your own webcam:

1. Your PC or Mac must have a built-in or external webcam and microphone
2. Your computer must have Flash version 8 or higher installed.

Note: Flash is a free, proprietary software developed by Adobe Software. There is a small percentage chance that, when loading it, it may cause your browser to "crash". If this occurs, please restart your browser and try again.

The main video chat screen has a variety of options such as "private chat" and other controls you can find by hovering over the arrow to the right of the User Column.
