Lorena & Ginger (Dialogue)

Scene background: Lorena and Ginger share a quiet moment, locked in a motel room after being attacked by zombies, chased by them and finally getting away.

LORENA
Yesterday my biggest worry was how we were going to do at the cheerleader tryouts.

GINGER
My biggest worry was that I might gain ten pounds.

LORENA
But having these killer zombies try to kill us and eat us, well, it puts things in a different perspective. Now I know the most important thing in life is...friendship.

GINGER
Ahhhh. I love you too, sweetie. And it’s true. Once you have everything – your dreams, your future, your life – nearly snatched away by a drooling undead monster, it kinda wakes you up.

Lorena nods.

LORENA
If we get out of this, I swear I’m going to worry less and smile more.

GINGER
I’m going to say “I love you” more often to more people. And I’m going to stop shoplifting.
(beat)
Well, except for candy.

LORENA
That’s okay. One step at a time.

GINGER
And I still don’t want to gain that ten pounds.

Lorena nods knowingly.
