About the cheerleaders and what makes them able to repel the zombies: I love the idea that the cheerleaders are immune as they have a 'lowered intelligence. Here's a thought for a side plot: the Leader of the Cheerleaders figures out that they're immune from the zombies because the cheerleaders are not too bright. She has a scene with another character where she discloses her realization and share a moment where she describes how hard it's been for her, all her life, knowing that she's not the sharpest knife. She goes on to explain how she's therefore had to work hard at being beautiful, popular, etc., in order to make up for the lack of brains. The other character listens considerately, then embraces her and in a heart-felt way, tells her that brains aren't everything... that not only is she beautiful, has other talents, she's the bravest of them all for using her 'special power' to battle the zombies. She's emboldened and earnestly rediscovers her specialness. Later in the movie, she's battling a zombie, says something brilliant, all the other characters are shocked thinking that she's now going to be eaten since she's clearly as smart as everyone else, but the zombies back away again from her. Finally, in another scene, we learn that the zombies are repelled by synthetic fabric which is contained in the cheerleader's uniforms!
